Laboratory Services

The Soil, Plant and Feed Analytical Laboratory has the following purposes to:- provide analytical services on plant, feed, fertilizer and soil to DAR, the farming community and other institutions. produce high quality analytical data that is accurate and reliable so as to assist researchers and farmers to diagnose and monitor the nutritional status, and plan the feeding and fertilizer programs for increased agricultural production

The laboratory is staffed with well-trained analysts who are dedicated to continued expansion of analytical services through the use of modern analytical instruments.

		The laboratory is a member of the National Testing Services under Botswana Bureau of Standards and is currently working towards being accredited. It participates in international laboratory sample exchange program with Wageningen Agricultural University, which has over 200 members. This assists the lab in monitoring its performance in comparison with other international laboratories.
